Emily Bieber has studied piano, oboe, saxophone and mellophone, and began the study of voice during her freshman year in high school. As an instrumentalist she is a veteran of the Spartan Marching Band. As a vocalist she has won awards from the Lansing Matinee Musicale and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). A senior at Michigan State majoring in Vocal Performance, Emily has studied voice with Melanie Helton and Stanley Kolk. Her stage career includes lead roles in The Fantasticks (Luisa) for Lansing Civic Players, Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Olympia) with MSU Opera Theater, and The Impresario (Mme Heartmelt) for the MSU Opera Gala. She is a member of the MSU Chorale and MSU Women's Chamber Ensemble and has been a vocal soloist with the MSU Jazz Band and the MSU Symphony Band, as well as the soprano soloist for MSU's 9/11 memorial performance of Mozart's Requiem. She will be attending the New England Conservatory in the fall to pursue a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance with an emphasis on Opera.
