Chance Hippler and Jeff O’Brien founded Gumby’s Pizza in 1985 in Gainesville, FL. Both were fraternity brothers at the University of Florida. They somehow convinced their parents to let them drop out for a semester to pursue their dream. They never looked back. Starting out in a $400 a month former bakery, the two worked their dream into a multi-million dollar venture. Gumby’s now operates in 18 states and employs over two thousand (2,000) people.
