0- MSU Herbarium Come explore the vast diversity of the plant kingdom! A herbarium is a “library” of dried and preserved plants and the MSU Herbarium represents a worldwide scientific collection of all groups and plants, lichens, and fungi. Current holdings number over 530,000 specimens. The mission of an herbarium is to preserve and document the diversity of plants and the flora of Michigan. We have plants collected dating back to 1837. Bring your whole family to enjoy the Herbarium on MSU’s campus. Located in the basement of the Plant Biology Building, east wing on campus. Open from 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
