2- MSU Wrestling Commitment to excellence while maintaining tradition is the goal for Michigan State wrestling. Michigan State head wrestling coach Tom Minkel enters his 16th season in East Lansing following this credo as he continues to dedicate himself to producing quality student-athletes in conjunction with upholding the prestigious Spartan wrestling tradition. Minkel won his 100th career dual with a 33-7 victory over Northwestern on Jan. 24, 2003, becoming just the third coach in Spartan history to collect 100 wins.

1- LCC Women's Basketball Ervin Brunson has been coaching at Lansing Community College for 13 years and continues to bring success through the increase in graduation and the various success that the Stars have displayed on the basketball court. 1- MSU Women's Volleyball Guiding MSU to the 2006 NCAA Championship Tournament in just her second season at the helm of the Spartan program, Cathy George has quickly led the Green and White back to its prominence as a nationally prominent program. George led a rebuilding Spartan squad to a 19-12 overall record, including a 10-10 (6th) Big Ten Conference mark in 2006, and its first trip to postseason play since the 2003 campaign. During her first season with the Spartans (2005), she directed MSU to a 12-18 record, including a 5-15, ninth-place finish in the conference standings.
