2 - Dagwood's Tavern & Grill
Dagwood Tavern is a great place to get cheep beer. I think pitchers were $4 on a Wednesday night when I was there. Sit at the bar and watch the cook make your food (or clean the grill if you stay late enough). The bartenders were very friendly and attentive; they made me feel like a regular my first time at the bar. You can really find some classic songs on the Jukebox.

2 - Leo's Lodge
Leo's Lodge offers everything you might ask of such a place. The food is good, the portions plentiful, the beer cheap (it seems like they always have Heineken on special), and the service speedy. A great place to sit inside and watch a game (much better atmosphere than a big chain like BW3), or in warm weather sit outside on the covered porch. ~ Carter A.

2 - Spartan Sport Den (East Lansing)
One of the best places in East Lansing to catch any MSU sporting event on the tube, the Spartan Sports Den does not lack for green and white. A 56-inch projection TV in the rear of the bar airs big games, and 8 smaller 32-inch sets are strategically scattered throughout, making it easy to catch the game from just about any nook, cranny, or barstool. The kitchen serves up typical sports bar cuisine, with hamburgers ranking among the most popular items. An impressive beer list and a cast of bartenders who can sling together any cocktail you dream up round out the experience. Those wanting to work off a few calories can take on all newcomers in a game of eight ball. NTN Trivia is also available.

This cozy college-town bar and grill is a favorite haunt with students, but also with alumni and even faculty. A great place to catch a game on the tube or just kick back and hang with locals, the Barrel offers patrons video games and a dartboard – not to mention a refreshingly funky selection on the classic jukebox. Cool hand-painted murals grace the base of the bar, and the youngish bartenders are apt at mixing up your favorite cocktails, pouring a headless beer, and tossing out a pithy comment or three. And, as per the name, baskets of peanuts are readily available.

Rick's is arguably one of the best joints in East Lansing to catch up-and-coming live acts. Bands with names like the Foster Kids, Jedi Mind Trip, Global Village, and Green Trio have rocked college kids, who in turn laud the bar's oft-cheap beer specials. Things tend to get loud at Rick's, so if you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy a cold one, this student-friendly bar probably isn't for you. On Monday nights, Rick's changes themes a little and becomes one of East Lansing's wildest dance venues, with Hip-Hop, retro, and Top-40 tunes blasting away until closing.
