2 - Lansing State Journal
The Lansing State Journal is Lansing's largest daily newspaper owned by Gannett. The paper was started as the Lansing Republican on April 28, 1855. Founder and publisher Henry Beard completed only two issues of the weekly abolitionist publication before selling it and returning to Detroit. Over the next 50 years, the paper saw many name changes and many different owners, finally merging with another newspaper and becoming the State Journal in 1911. Gannett bought the paper in 1971, and it became the Lansing State Journal on August 25, 1980. Its current circulation is 70,000 to 80,000 plus daily; 90,000 to 100,000 plus on Sunday.

2 - 89.7 FM (LCC)
is a non-commercial FM radio station owned by Lansing Community College. Programming is mostly jazz, blues and accoustic music. Each morning there is a live local talk show called Coffee Break which is televised in the Lansing area on Comcast local access. WLNZ also has an Internet only student station called WLNZ-2 which plays rock music from the 90's.
