The Symphony Orchestra, celebrating its 76th season, has performed for the Music Educators National Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, on two occasions. It has presented the gala opening concert of the Music Educators Midwestern Conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and performed the opening concert of the 50th Anniversary Midwest International Conference of Bands and Orchestras in Chicago, Illinois. The Symphony Orchestra has recorded for Koch International Classics, Arizona University Records, GIA Records, and PBS specials. "The Birth of a Symphony," Symphony No. 4 ("The Gardens") by Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, was videotaped by PBS for nationwide distribution.

The MSU Professors of Jazz are members of the jazz faculty at Michigan State University’s College of Music. The group was established in 2000 to facilitate outreach and recruitment. Since its inception, the group has completed residencies at Detroit Symphony Hall (2004-2006), Wharton Center for the Performing Arts (2004-present), and the Arts League of Michigan Jazz @ the Center (2003-present).

My mission with the show is to educate and expose people to the full spectrum of jazz music, from Louis Armstrong to Wynton Marsalis and beyond. I also devote a lot of show time to a local jazz calendar, in studio performances, and on-air interviews with local and international jazz artists. Past guests include Rodney Whitaker, Wessell Anderson, Jerry Gonzalez, Jim Alfredson, and Diego Rivera. Built in 1980 the building was officially named the John H. Dart Center for the Performing Arts in honor of LCC's Board of Trustees charter member. The familiar usage to "Dart Auditorium" was quickly adapted. The 480-seat auditorium is the stage for numerous performing arts events, guest speakers, and civic activities throughout the year.

is an integrated ensemble of singers from the Lansing, Michigan area, and are dedicated to collect and perform only those arrangements that tend to capture the original mood, style, and character of the sacred song of the slave. The group's repertoire also includes some songs representative of the early "gospel" style which typified the urbanized church songs of descendants of ex-slaves after the Civil War in America's history.

The Capitol City Chordsmen are the Barbershop Chorus of the Lansing Chapter of the Societyfor the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA); this means we sing music in the Barbershop style. The society is an international organization that is arranged in districts. We are members of the Pioneer District, which consists of chapters located in Michigan and Ontario. Members of the Capitol City Chordsmen come from all over the Central Michigan Area. The Capitol City Chordsmen aspire to excellence within the society, and we expect to execute every aspect of our craft in a quality way and while in the process, conduct ourselves so that we are a source of pride to our Society, our community, and our families.
