6 - One Book, One Community
One Book" is encouraging the East Lansing and Michigan State University community to read the same book over a six-week period this fall and to come together to discuss it in a variety of settings. Although dozens of similar programs have been sponsored nationwide, this is the first to bring together a city and a university.

4 - MSU Community Music School
CMS is the outreach division of the MSU College of Music. Our mission is to provide comprehensive music education—quality instruction, related music services, and educational programs—for interested individuals of all ages and levels with financial assistance for those in need. We are conveniently located off-campus, on the eastern edge of East Lansing, just north of Burcham Road with plenty of free parking.

3 - the Ten Pound Fiddle
The Fiddle is probably best described as an organization of volunteers that has presented concerts and dances in a variety of places since our inception in 1975. If you think bringing this wide range of music and dance to the community is important or would enjoy seeing how it happens “behind the scenes” – please consider joining us! To educate the public about Middle Eastern culture through dance and music. The Habibi Dancers is a mid-Michigan based dance company specializing in Middle Eastern and related dance. The company is well-known for its annual concerts and its appearances at local events, summer art and ethnic festivals, and fairs. The company grew out of a performing dance group sponsored by Lansing Community College and was incorporated as an independent nonprofit dance company in 1983.
