1- Michigan Heritage Awards honor individuals who continue their family and community folk traditions with excellence and authenticity. The program was established in 1985 to call attention to Michigan's exceptional tradition bearers and supporters of traditional culture whose contributions to our state's heritage had not been recognized previously. Awards are annually presented in three categories: material culture, performance, and community leadership. Click here to view (0) comments or add your own.
0- Michigan Barn & Farmstead Survey Volunteers are surveying barns and farmsteads in their community as part of this documentation project. The survey is fun to do! It involves driving all the roads in a township, taking photographs of the barns you see, and filling out a survey form for each farmstead.
