- East Lansing Youth Film Festival Competition WinnersThe Youth Film Competition, a statewide competition that engages and encourages Michigan’s youth to submit films for exhibit at the Festival. Students in grades 1 st through 12th conceptualize, create, and collaborate through the medium of film....Films are submitted to the Youth Film Competition by December 1. All films received are then judged by a diverse panel of judges. Films are rated alongside their peers in one of three grade categories, Elementary, Middle School and High School.

Helping refugees learn to drive and become ready to buy a car is a high priority at the Refugee Development Center. The Refugee Center's state-of-the-art driving simulator has three 19-inch computer screens that give refugees 120-degree vision as they learn to drive. The simulator can take a trip on city streets or freeways, in dry or wet weather, and can even teach someone to drive a stick shift.
