Amnesty International is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for human rights. Our work is based on careful research and on the standards agreed by the international community. We are independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion.

(MPAS) promotes, expands and protects the human and legal rights of people by providing them with information and advocacy. People with disabilities have to deal with a wide variety of issues. We try to answer any questions you may have relating to disability. We have experience in the following areas: discrimination in education, employment, housing, and public places; abuse and neglect; Social Security benefits; Medicaid, Medicare and other insurance; housing; Vocational Rehabilitation; HIV/AIDS issues; and many other disability-related topics. Your bank has a lobbyist. So does your insurance agent and insurance company. And the dealership where you bought your car. And your utility company and telephone company. There are lobbyists representing your doctor, hospital, and pharmacist. And, of course, your grocery store, the department stores where you shop – even the convenience store on the corner. Practically every business works to protect its own interests. What about your interests? Aren’t you the one who elected our congressmen into office and not a company? Shouldn't they hear more from you and not from them? Shouldn’t you have someone working full-time in Lansing to make sure your interests as a consumer are being protected?
